We were all gathered around the table this week and my husband starts in telling some of his favorite “and I almost died…” stories. He has so many more of those than I do! The kids lean forward in anticipation for the punch lines and for the finale of each tale! Some of the older ones have heard them many times, but the younger ones don’t quite have them memorized. It doesn’t matter. Listening to him retell the stories, and seeing the expression on his face as he relives the neighborhood where he grew up plus watching our kid’s faces with their mesmerized expressions is worth the rehearing.
Our teenage daughter finally burst out, “Dad! You have to write that down!”
She’s right! But he’s busy with work, and church, and doing and living our lives. It’s hard to sit down right now and just write. It’s way less trouble and much more fun to just sit around the table and listen and laugh and enjoy being together without making it into a project!
Which is the precise reason Tell The Kids App is being created even as I sit here writing this tonight. I am so excited to know that the next time we are all gathered around the table, and he starts telling his tales, all I have to do is pull out my phone hit the app, and his stories will be recorded, printed, and written down! That simple!
Every day we are closer to sharing that with all of you! Stay tuned!
